Cory tried out for one of three walk-on spots on BYU's basketball team. It started off with about 60 hopefuls. After 2 days of tryouts, they cut it to 12. He made the top 12 and got to scrimmage with the other 11 in the Marriott Center. Most were former Junior College players and some D-!, D-II players. Well...he made it! He now has a locker in the Marriott Center, new Cougar shoes and playing with the fellas. They also gave him two ankle braces. He thought that was the coolest part. Didn't even have to go buy them. It is a red-shirt type position, so don't look for him on ESPN, yet. Playing time will probably come next year. Unless, some of the players get hurt...but we wouldn't want that to happen (wink-wink)!
Congratulations, Cory!
